Dr Rabban is a Professor and head of gynecological pathology services at University of California San Francisco in the United States, where he is also program director of the gynecological pathology fellowship. Dr Rabban is an editor and author of the current 5th edition World Health Organization of Classification of Female Genital Tumors and an expert panel author on several gynecologic cancer diagnostic and reporting guideline recommendations from the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists (ISGyP), International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting and International STIC Consortium. He is a member of the American Board of Pathology test development and advisory committee and past co-chair of the ISGyP Education Committee. His primary research focuses on evidence-based gynecologic tumor classification. Dr Rabban enjoys teaching and directing gynecologic pathology courses for a large spectrum of domestic and international continuing education conferences. His teaching style emphasizes clinically-relevant pattern-based strategies, evidence-based use of immunostains and molecular diagnostic tests, integration of clinical context, gross pathology and microscopic pathology, and attention on the evolving literature of morphologic patterns that may indicate an underlying hereditary tumor syndrome.
