Dr Mihir graduated from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India in 1996. He completed his histopathology training in London and worked at Imperial College Health Care NHS trust. He also obtained the Diploma in Cytology from the Royal College of Pathologists. He moved to Singapore in 2013 and currently works as a senior consultant at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. His areas of specialist interest are cytology, breast and gynaecological pathology. He has been an examiner for the FRCPath 1 and 2 since 2010 and has organised the Hammersmith Surgical Pathology Course and the Cairo FRCPath cytology Course. He lectures on cytology and breast pathology both locally and abroad. He has been involved in residency teaching and training for more than 20 years and is currently the Associate Programme director for the SingHealth Residency Programme. He is the President of the Society of Cytology Singapore and a council member of the SGIAP. He has organised local and regional seminars and conferences for the Society and KKH department of Pathology. He has more than 40 peer reviewed articles in local and international journals and is a contributing author in the Paediatric Tumours volume of the 5th-edition WHO Classification of Tumours Blue Book. His areas of research interest are in breast pathology and centred around investigating prognostic markers in breast cancers and fibroepithelial lesions.
